AMW GmbH realigns management
Dr. Wilfried Fischer, founding shareholder of AMW, has retired from the management board and remains associated with the company as an important shareholder. His areas of responsibility will be taken over by the previous Co-Managing Directors Dr. Friedrich Tegel and Philipp Karbach.

Dr. Bernhard Schirmers, Managing Partner of the largest investor SHS Company for Investment Management mbH, thanks Dr. Fischer on behalf of all shareholders for his great commitment over many years and his successful development work: “In 25 years, Dr. Fischer successfully built two companies up and created several hundred jobs in the region. This is an extraordinary lifetime achievement which he can be very proud of”. The existing shareholders will remain closely associated with AMW and will continue to support and accompany its further development and expansion. “With the now implemented succession plan, AMW is also well prepared for future challenges.”
The biologist and chemist Dr. Friedrich Tegel has more than fourteen years of experience in the field of product development and manufacture of new drugs. In August 2017, he became part of AMW GmbH as Director Operations and will be responsible for development and production in the future. Before joining AMW, he held leading positions in development/clinical research, project management and operations at Novartis/Sandoz/Hexal for a total of twelve years at various locations of the Group, including as Head of Operational Excellence.
Philipp Karbach is a healthcareeconomist and joined AMW in September 2016 as Commercial Director, since 2019 as CFO. He has more than fourteen years of experience in the healthcare sector in areas of finance and business development, most of which he gained in management positions.
